Week 10 – words

March 10, 2012

focus52BlogThis week’s prompt was extremely appropriate here.   Jordan’s had a tough time with spelling lately, and this week’s set of words proved to be just as challenging for her.

council                                 symbol
citizen                                  president
environment                     accept
hospital                               character
dictionary                          height
tongue                                  social
excited                                 silent

Week 10 - words

She gets easily frustrated, and the words “dictionary” and “character” were giving her a really hard time when I was quizzing her

Week 10 - words

I made up some cards and a wordle to help her out.

Week 10 - words

Week 10 - words

She’s holding her pretest in her hand from Monday, she only got two words out of fifteen correct (they’re tested on the words before they’re assigned to see if they know them already). But she’s happy here because she finally got them all right on the quiz we had just done.

Week 10 - words

We’ll see how she did on Friday’s test when she brings it home in a couple of days. I feel good about this one.

so happy to see the final smile.
That look of frustration and sad was hard to take! LOL! I feel the same with my girl … I feel bad when she’s frustrated with it all.
    Way to go, Mama 🙂

It breaks my heart when she struggles like she does. And she was quite mad that I took a picture of her crying, but it was worth her anger for the capture. I’ll show it to her years from now, and she’ll be glad I got it.

Great “words” – those spelling exercises can be tough, but so necessary. Nice to parents working with the children – everyone wins!

Great series. I know spelling struggles, and I feel for Jordan. But I love the last smile. She has every right to be proud! And the light in the first shot is beautiful.
