Week 17 – April showers
The week started out quite gorgeous, so I wasn’t sure about getting a good photo for this week’s “April showers” prompt. In fact, I went about taking pictures of clouds in case there were no actual showers. But Mother Nature had a bit of a tantrum this week, unleashing lots of rain and storms … and tornadoes. No tornadoes in my immediate area, but we had an area-wide tornado watch that lasted almost a full day, along with a couple of warnings. April showers … more like April torrents.
My photo for the week amuses me. I brought my camera in the car, hoping to get a neat shot of the rain after dropping Natalie off at school. I had to make a stop to pick up some forms, and just as I parked my car, the rain really came down crazy hard. So Jack and I sat in the car, waiting for it to slow down enough to run into the building without looking like we just got out of the shower. I decided to capture the rain on my window while we sat there. I really love this shot, it turned out much better than I expected (as I definitely struggled with trying to get it focused on the drops instead of what was on the other side of my window).
Once we got home, the rain had subsided a bit, so I got out a big umbrella and tried to photograph the rain on our azaleas. None of those photos are stellar, but they’re still worth sharing.
And one of the clouds I photographed while waiting for rain …
I love the sunlight reflecting on the wet flowers. Beautiful colouring
All lovely photos! The azaleas look so juicy š
