#11 – painted bricks {52 Projects}

52 projects

The second week in March was an easy week in the project corner, in fact it’s kind of a lame one.   But I’m happy with the end result, so lame or not, it was a worthwhile project. :)

I picked up a bathroom shelf  unit on freecycle for the bathroom in our basement, as we have no real place to put anything in there.

But one of the supports in the back was at the same height as one of the water pipes from the toilet.   I needed to raise it higher so that it wasn’t pressing on the flexible pipe.  I put a board under each leg, but I was concerned about water getting on the floor from either a toilet overflow (yuck!) or just water from the shower.   So I decided to use bricks to put under the legs instead.

I don’t have a before photo of the bricks, but they’re just regular bricks.  I painted them with a glossy white paint so that they blended in with the tile floor.  It took a couple of coats as the paint needed to soak into the brick.

So there you have it, a simple way to raise shelves in the bathroom. :)
